Inspiration
This girl was my adopted cousin for a couple years. She and her sister were adopted by my aunt, who took care of them until they had a permanent home. Her name was Leah (I never knew her last name), and in my opinion she was unbelievably cute. Not that I ever really got to talk to her that much; she was pretty shy. Which isn't surprising because I have a lot of people in my extended family, and we're all really loud and excitable. Which can be pretty overwhelming if you're a little girl who doesn't know us that well.
Technique
I actually took this picture during the fall of 2009. Yeah, it took a while to find it's way to me, didn't it? I figure I must have deleted it immediately because the focus was so strange. Then it reappeared on my computer because I had to reload all of my pictures from my camera (over 2600 of them!) and I was like
whoa, I really like that shot.
She was very camera shy, as you can tell in this picture (where she's basically trying to hide as much of her face as possible). The looks she kept giving me were adorable. I love her hair, too.
