Inspiration I was at a youth retreat a couple weekends ago, and I met this guy named Brandon. We were getting ready for bed on the first night, and I don't remember why, but he showed us that he could do a backflip just from a standing position. No lie.
(I tried to show my sister what he did the next morning by mimicking the start of the jump – not actually lifting my feet off the ground, but doing the push-down-lean-back thing, and I strained my neck. That's right, I'd fail at being a stuntman.)
So anyways, right before he left, he was over on the lawn, and I was like, "Brandon, show the other people how you can do a backflip!" And he did, and I snapped a picture at exactly the right moment.
Technique This is my second attempt at lomo (I've actually done about five now, just need to upload 'em, neh). I used the same technique as in Angel of music.
I knew, I saw this somewhere else before! I saw you won the nomination round for Sports with this Photograph @ the Michael the Mavens 2011 Photography Contest! Congratulations and good try on getting into the Finalist Round ! It was tough.
"Lomography emphasizes casual, snapshot photography. Accidents such as over-saturated colors, lens artifacts, and exposure defects are rehabilitated to produce swirly, abstract effects - a trait emphasized by practitioners."
