Inspiration
My friend Mitchell and I went exploring out in the forests on my property last Friday. We actually got lost (lost in the woods, ha!), which is pretty cool because I know my property very well. So getting lost was an altogether perplexing experience. We climbed a fallen tree, got caught trespassing and Mitchell got a soaker in the swamp. It was grand.
Go outside, you-who-is-reading-this. Go feel the wind on your skin and the clouds whisper in your ears. There is a wide old world out there; the land is dancing under your feet, calling your name.

Technique
I took this photo while we were sitting on top of the frame of a century-old building. Just us and the sky. He lit a smoke, I took pictures and counted the ridges in the log underneath me.
I chose this photo because I think it carries a feeling of bold authenticity. He's not posing, he's not even paying attention to me. Wicked. (I also love the smoke, yeahwow.)
I edited the colour balance and all that with Photoshop, then started playing around with lines. I guess the inspiration for the white geometric overlay is from a photo by jaaanet on Flickr, although I think I've seen it in other places too. I think it's really neat and I've always wanted to try it.
