Taste the summer sun.

Journal Entry: Thu Jul 14, 2011, 8:14 AM
deviantART Journal of Jon Reed

It's like strawberries and ice cream and pink lemonade.

I couldn't keep you up to speed on all of the things I've been doing if I tried. Which I won't 'cause I'd much rather go outside and race the wind.

My life has been a blur of laughter, playing cards, coffee breaks and sweaty cheerfulness. It's summer. :]

Oh, and I guess this is worth sharing: I went to a big concert on Saturday – Edgefest. It's an annual thing, with 20,000+ people there and a lineup of known and unknown alt. rock bands. It was really, really amazing. I saw bands like Dinosaur Bones (signed DB shirt, woo), The Reason, Arkells, Hollerado, KO, Tokyo Police Club, The Weakerthans, A Perfect Circle and Rise Against. It was a little bit like this:

I was there for about ten hours. Extremely exhausting but totally worth it.

I've been tagged by ~chiquitaBanANNA93 and =CatchingFear to put up ten facts about moi-même. So here you go:
1. I did ballet when I was younger.
2.  I believe in true love.
3.  I'm not afraid of anything.
4. I like biting things. Like holding a pen in between my teeth.
5. I love the smell of cedar trees.
6. I like French more than English.
7. I want to learn how to knit.
8. I think fake flowers are sad.
9. When I was maybe around ten, my twin sister was taller than me, but I denied it ferociously.
10. I wore Converse before they were cool.

Project 365 + Tumblr.

Yes, that's right. I have a Tumblr now: puzzles and wonders, mysteries and such.
(that's a quote from my current favourite music video, Magic by The Sound of Arrows, which was shown to me by the lovely ~cherrichan13)
I'm doing another photography project that I will affectionately refer to as Project 365. :eyes: Yes, that's right, a photo every day. Why, you ask, am I choosing to do another photography project when I'm still behind on my weekly project? Well you see, Project 52 is a lot different from what this is going to be. With the weekly photo, I use my DSLR and take several hours to create the photo. This new project will be much more about me artistically expressing myself – it's a way for my creative side to remain intact without hours of intense work. I just take a couple of minutes each day to snap a photo, and then edit it with Instagram and voilà.
Here are some of my latest shots as an example:

If you want to follow me, that's lovely. I'm flattered. I regret that I won't follow back – I'm not letting myself integrate into the tumblr world because I have not enough time in the world as it is. I'm sure anyone that's noticed my failure to keep up here on deviantART will understand.

Well, that's all for now.
Oh, excuse me. HARRY POTTER ZOMG :cough: yeah, I'm going to see the midnight premiere. And dressing up as a Snatcher for the occasion. ;] If there's pictures, I'll show you my costume.

Bye for now.

Summer summer summer. :dummy: Glad you had a good time at the concert!
I did some knitting when I was about... uh, nine? My granny showed me. But I have now totally forgotten it. :XD: I remember it as being quite relaxing once you got into the swing, though. Unlike sewing. Sewing is hellish. >.>
 I've given up being taller than any of my friends who are the same age as me. Most of them overtook me when we were 13-14.
French has a beautiful sound, I can't understand very much of it though. Are you fluent?
Speaking of, I don't think I ever knew – who is older by however many minutes, you or Sarah? :XD:

:dummy: As my mother says, the lazy hazy crazy days of summer.
*suddenly misses his mother*
Right, well, knitting. I am actually going to volunteer for an in-school intergenerational program thing where people teach the students to knit. :la: So I get to hang out with kids and finally learn to knit!
ha. Sewing buttons is okay.

:XD: How tall are you, then?
Hm, not fluent but getting there. I really like the language.

Sarah
is eight minutes older than me. :D

Aww.
That's so awesome! I hope it goes well. :la:
I'm 5'3"-ish, I believe. And not going to get much taller. :XD: How about you?
Eight minutes. XD

I used to be able to knit,
but unfortunately I have no idea how to cast on.
So I can't even start knitting now...

(And honestly, who wouldn't prefer french to english?
French is such a beautiful, flowing language.
It pains me I am close to failing it.)

::shakefist: Well isn't that just completely inconvenient.
Goodness, I'd have thought that it was the sort of things that you never forget, like riding a bike. :noes:

:highfive: Yeah, glad someone agrees!
Aw, oh no. :\ I can help you if you want!

Isn't it just?
Oh, I can still knit,
I just mean once I've finished knitting something,
I can't cast on,
to start knitting a new something.
If that makes sense?

Mhmm.
That would be brilliant, thank you. c:
Although I think my grades would benefit more if I simply paid attention. ^^;

:giggle: So someone needs to cast it for you, then?
You really should learn how to do it yourself, haha.

Ainsi, je suis ici n'importe quand tu as besoin de moi.
[Therefore, I am here whenever you need me.]

:XD: And yeah, maybe paying attention would help. You know, here and there. Every now and then. ;]

Fff, when you say it like that it makes me sound redundant in the world of knitting. Lol. xD

Merci beaucoup, monsieur gentil. Je ne vous baisserai pas.

Hmm, maybe... :L
I swear the only thing I learned in french this year was "Je mange un aspirateur", which won't really help if I plan on going to France...

Lmao well, not redundant. It would just be a lot easier on yourself. :XD:

A title I am not entirely against. :3
